The "Reel Impact" category, tailored for the Pulling Focus community, honors films that resonate locally by engaging with community themes and enhancing understanding of diverse experiences in the Quad Cities. These films, which foster community dialogue and enrichment, are featured in special screenings held throughout the year at various venues separate from the main festival. This category culminates in three awards: Best "Reel Impact" Film, 1st Runner-Up, and 2nd Runner-Up, announced during the main festival's closing night awards ceremony.
